UFC FIGHT NIGHT 108: JAKE ELLENBERGER MEETS MIKE PERRY IN NASHVILLE

Next month will see the UFC in a return to the “Music City” and its lineup for the return, continues growing as the days roll by.

Reports emanating from the Los Angeles Daily News has it that a welterweight fight between Jake Ellenberger (31-12 MMA, 10-8 UFC) and Mike Perry (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has now been included in the card. However, the booking is yet to be announced by the officials.

The next month’s UFC Fight Night 108 will be including a featherweight matchup between Artem Lobov and Cub Swanson and is scheduled to take place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on April 22. The card will air on FS1 after prelims on UFC Fight Pass, although the bout order is yet to be completely finalized.

Since the past three and a half years, it’s been a rough road of some sort for Ellenberger. After a run which saw him win eight fights out of nine, he in recent times, has dropped six out of eight fights. For more than 3 years, his solid run included bonus winning victories over the likes of Diego Sanchez, Jake Shields and Nate Marquardt.

However, in a straight row, he dropped three fights to Robbie Lawler, Rory MacDonald, and Kelvin Gastelum. With a bonus winning submission over Josh Koscheck at UFC 184, it seemed as though he was on a rebound. He soon lost fights after that to Stephen Thompson and Tarec Saffiedine.

Ellenberger bounced back with a “Performance of the Night” as he duly delivered a first-round knockout of Matt Brown at UFC 201 this past July. Unfortunately in December, he suffered a first round TKO to Jorge Masvidal, a fight in which his foot got caught up in the cage.
